Eating and misc stuff

My whole family went on an eating binge this weekend. We drank pop, ate donuts, and basically threw common sense out the window. Hubby and I had nachos and cheesecake after going to a movie. I might still be on a sugar rush. But back down to earth today.

Patrick adapted well this morining to an unforseen incident. Matthew's bus didn't come. We waited a bit and I thought I could see the bus down the road. So I packed them both up and went to investigate. A replacement bus came several minutes later. I was so pleased that Patrick got dressed and in the truck with almost no reluctance, allowed Matthew to get out of the truck with no problems, waited patiently in his car seat while I dropped Matthew with the driver, and then was calm coming back home and into the house. Yay Patrick!

Switched to Beta

It says you can't go back. I hope I don't regret it.

Questions of the mind

I took Matthew to the dentist today to have sealants put on his back teeth. And yes, Patrick came with me. He was really well behaved. He spoke to the receptionist and another patient who was waiting. He talked to the fish. I was so proud of him. And, something happened for the first time. I did NOT say "He has Autism". I didn't feel the need to qualify his behavour at all. It felt really good.

It also made me start thinking out WHY I say that sometimes. Do I feel the need to explain him? Am I that worried about what others think? Should he only be accepted if he has a label? Can't he just be unique and who he is and still have others accept him for that? Needless to say I'll be rhuminating over that for a little while. I promise I'll post what I come up with.

Nothing to say

I feel bad for not writing much lately. There just really isn't much to say. Patrick is doing ok. Some behavioural issues but that's not a surprise right? School has been ok. We made it through the vaccination without incident. Time is passing. Maybe I'm in a bit of a rut. I think I'll plan a museum trip for this week. We'll both enjoy that.
